POLAND

Got the Europe travel bug, but no European Union passport?

A cold day in the cityHead over to Poland! You will be surprised by this modern, fashionable and progressive country which became part of the European Union (EU) almost two years ago. Its economic development has been strong, and English is an important skill, therefore teachers who do not have EU citizenship can still teach in this wonderful market. Employers are keen to bring in native, TESOL-qualified teachers, and TI has many graduates who have headed this way.

But what can we tell you about this country? Poland was the first country in the Soviet bloc to break free from communism in 1989. With its entry into the EU and its fast development, it attracts over eight million tourists every year. Vodka is the national drink in this country, so get ready for it! Reports from our teachers also say that the after-work-beer tradition is very much alive in Poland, where (adult) students take their teachers out for a few after class. Shop frontsThe Polish students are well-known for being enthusiastic and hardworking, providing a comfortable environment for teaching.
The conditions for English teachers are fantastic. Monthly salaries range between AU$600-1300, CA$550-1200, NZ$650-1400, and other benefits include assistance with travel costs, paid visa, free or subsidised accommodation, language lessons, subsidised health insurance and Internet.

Offering excellent skiing and hiking opportunities, an extremely central location (imagine your weekend trips!) and the biggest economy in Central Europe, Poland is calling you! Take the plunge...teach in Poland!
