Have years of teaching experience? Meet Julie!

JulieOriginally I wasn’t sure whether I needed to take a course to teach overseas. My career spans 26 years of teaching. I decided to pursue my dream of teaching abroad, and from research and word of mouth I discovered that it was necessary and advantageous to be certified in TESOL training. Taking the course gave me the contacts, skills, resources, web sites and essential basics to getting started; not to mention the profiles which are job contacts to all over the world!

After taking the course I wrote away to these contacts and have just completed a month’s wonderful teaching in Cataluna, Spain! It was just the most fantastic experience and I can’t wait to go to the next place. While I was away the director organised a party with other teachers and directors and nearly every one of them wanted to know what my experience was with teaching. I was confident in saying I had a TESOL certificate as well as my normal teaching qualifications. I was given practical experience in drills and chants, lesson planning where you provide teacher student talking time into 20/80% and as well as that the grammar ideas and the very necessary grammar training that you will definitely have to teach which are all part of the course requirements.

I have achieved the beginning of my dream and will continue. I still have the profiles and contacts for next time thanks to the Teach International TESOL course I took. Go for it! Take the course and start teaching overseas like I did!
